Responsibilities:
- The Sonographer performs Ultrasound procedures according to established protocol to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by a licensed physician or their designated health care provider.
- The Sonographer provides information to the patient about the purpose of the ultrasound procedure and responds to the patient’s questions and concerns.
- The Sonographer recognizes the patient’s individuality and provides quality care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner using professional and ethical judgment.
- The diagnostic medical sonographer maintains continued competence through lifelong learning, which includes continuing education, acquisition of specialty specific credentials, and re-credentialing.
- The diagnostic sonographer working in the department of Radiology is required to perform diverse imaging across the spectrum of sonography.
Schedule: Two – eight hour shifts (7:30am-4:00pm) and Two – twelve hour shifts weekly.
Hours: Two (12 hours) 7:00am-7:30pm or 10:30am-11:00pm and two (2) dayshifts assignment weekdays and 10:30am-11:00pm every 4th weekend includes holiday rotation and weekday call rotation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post High School Diploma Program
- BLS Certification
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (OB or AB and RVT) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) RT(S) and RT(VS)
- ARDMS OR ARRT (S) if hired as a new graduate, must achieve Vascular Certification within 24 months of graduation
- ARDMS or ARRT (S) hired as a experienced sonographer with two (2) years or more experience, must achieve Vascular certification within 12 months of hire
