Seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse Manager to join their Surgical team, this 385 bed acute care hospital is classified as a stroke receiving center and level 2 trauma facility providing a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care rehabilitation, joint replacement & spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ICU, Telemetry, step-down care, skilled nursing, as well as outpatient therapy, hand and lymphedema clinics.
The Nursing Manager is responsible for the administration and supervision of nursing personnel in the Surgical Services Department for cost centers: Operating Room, Anesthesia, and Endoscopy. The Nursing Manager is accountable to the Director of Surgical Services, for coordination of all nursing care given and all related supporting services of these units and personnel.. The main function is that of leadership and promotion of cooperative staff effort. In the absence of the Director of Surgical Services, the Nursing Manager assumes this responsibility and accountability.
The Manager is responsible for the location and completion of assigned functions in the daily operation of the Surgical Services Department. The Manager interprets hospital and departmental philosophy, objectives, policy and procedures. Access to all Patient Health Information for treatment purposes only.
Department Specific Duties will be provided to qualified candidates upon request.
- Current RN licensure in the State of California
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (maintain current at all times)
- CNOR preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree, MSN preferred
- Three (3) years of clinical experience in Surgical Services
- Two (2) years of progressive management experience in surgical services area(s)
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrates knowledge of current nursing theory and practice
- Compassionate, non-judgmental patient caregiver and advocate
- Must be able to tolerate physically and mentally demanding work
